Woodwind music lessons

I offer saxophone and clarinet lessons to beginners and more advanced players (grade 8 and beyond) I can teach a range of different styles of music from classical to jazz and popular music. I start with the basics of note reading, navigation around the saxophone, blowing techniques and improvisational skills. For children, they can start whenever they are big enough to hold the instrument and cover the finger keys or holes.

I also offer flute lessons from beginner up to grade 5 level.

My daughter, Emma age 9, has been having piano lessons with Averil for 8 months and she loves her lessons. Averil is always patient and kind and Emma is very excited to be making such good progress. Emma’s confidence with playing is growing in leaps and bounds and she loves to play for her family. Averil’s lessons are a wonderful introduction to music and Emma is now keen to start learning other instruments as well as piano.
